These drawings were made over the course of a few months, and although they are meant to be viewed on their own, I decided to put them all into one project since they have a reoccurring theme, which is Knights. This is not only due to my interest in history and the Middle Ages, but it serves as a metaphor: for me, the knight represents the weight of duty opposed to the desire of being free. The armour of the Knights weighs them down and while it protects them, it doesn’t allow them to be vulnerable. I don’t see these characters as people wearing armour but rather as entities that are the armour.
I draw a lot of knights all the time, but the drawings chosen for this portfolio are my favourite.
